Our Mission
Provide an inclusive, low cost, high fun sports league that is manages as a non-profit with a philanthropic heart.

Founding of Stonewall Sports Charlotte
It was a warm spring day in 2014 when I witnessed my first post middle school kickball game. See, I had heard from my longtime friend Jonathan Melton about this “little sports league” he was doing in Raleigh, so some friends and I decided to take a day trip to see what it was all about. What I witnessed was a community coming together for one common purpose, to have FUN. Race, sexual orientation, ability, gender, age, social cliques, nothing mattered. They were all supporting each other, having an amazing time, and raising much needed money for other local non-profits.
On the drive back to Charlotte, the plan begin to hatch to bring Stonewall Sports to the Queen City. The entire car ride was spent brainstorming, making notes and wondering if Charlotte would support such an endeavor. Well, as they say, the rest is history. What started out as a kickball league with 90 people that first season, has grown into an organization that offers 6 sports across 12 seasons, servicing on average 1600 players a year. In addition, since founding, we have been lucky enough to be able to provide over $150,000 of donations back into the Charlotte community. No matter your ability.
No matter your background. No matter, well, anything, Stonewall is a place where you can meet new friends and have fun. We are an organization that looks to adapt to the changing needs of our community and provide low cost offerings. It has been a great eight years of growth and support and we can’t wait to see what is next.
