Position Title: Stonewall Sports Charlotte Marketing and Communications Director
Length of Term: Two Years
Voting Board of Directors Position: Yes
Compensation: 100% Volunteer
Position Overview:
Creates, implements, monitors, and evaluates marketing strategy, including advertising, promotions, and public relations to support the Corporate marketing objective and maximize the positive exposure at the local market level.
Responsibilities:
- Continually develop and maintain all website properties.
- Create and implement social media presence for the Corporation and LGBTQ+ A community.
- Maintain a social media calendar and execute posts.
- Lead the creation and final approval of graphic and video assets.
- Create and execute timed email campaigns.
- Drafts and maintains a year long marketing budget.
- Understand and promote the organization’s mission and vision.
- Be familiar with the organization’s programs, policies and operations.
- Prepare for and attend monthly board meetings and appropriate committee meetings.
- Participate in fundraising activities and special events.
- Strictly adhere to confidentiality policies.
- Enhance the organization’s public image.
- Attend and actively participate in the annual planning retreat.
- Performs other responsibilities assigned by the Board.
- Determine, monitor, and strengthen the organization’s programs and services.
- Actively maintains and oversees a committee to assist in day to day job duties
Qualifications:
- WordPress, HTML, and WP plugin
- Full understanding of CAN-SPAM Act.
- Familiarity with MailChimp or other email marketing software.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Task focussed to completion of important corporate deadlines.
- The ability to communicate clearly and effectively in many mediums: Email, Social Media, Phone, In Person.
- Timeliness, dependability, and self-starter ability.
- Attention to detail.
- Understanding of Google Drive.

Stonewall Sports is an LGBTQ & Ally community-based, non-profit sports organization founded in 2010 that strives to raise funds for local non-profit organizations. Our league values each player, volunteer, and our founding cities for who they are and what they bring to the leagues community. Stonewall Sports Charlotte, founded in 2014, is an LGBTQ and Ally not-for-profit sports league serving over 1,600 annual players and giving back over $150,000 to the local Charlotte NC community. We strive to develop a well-connected and diverse community through organized competition and social or fundraising events. Our Vision is that EVERY person should have the ability to feel comfortable playing organized sports and that we have the responsibility to give back to our community.
